Bailey seeks attention and adventure elsewhere
Scenario
Bailey lives with his brother Hunter and his father Bug, who is raising them alone in a squat in North Kent. Bug doesn’t have much time to devote to them.
Edited at Fontaines DC: Bug (2024)
Barry Keoghan dropped out of Gladiator II (2024) to star in this film instead. I thought this was a great film, I got completely lost in its layers of storytelling.
The soundtrack is excellent and fitting, the performances are beautiful, and the camerawork fits into the context of the production in an unusual and imaginative way
Not much happens on the one hand, but on the other hand, there are all sorts of little things that happen that outline the story and the set of characters that are believable and realistic. For a piece that is almost constantly on the edge of danger and violence, it manages to navigate those waters while moving towards a very encouraging conclusion that had me going home smiling and singing to myself (I didn’t really like any of Fontaines DC’s stuff , but the use of their songs may have changed that, and I hate Coldplay and Andrea Arnold even made me laugh along to that part and it’s used to stimulate the toad).
It’s worth a few hours of your time
Even the unexpected twist, bizarre as it is, doesn’t falter in the way you’d think.
